    Why do some tracks fail to download in Nokia Music with the error 503 (Gateway Unavailable) or 504 (No Internet Connection)

    These two errors are generic connectivity errors and could have many causes such as loss of connectivity to the internet, internet connection timing out due to heavy load, internet connection interrupted due to a laptop entering sleep / hibernate mode. Basic troubleshooting steps would include checking that the internet connection is still working correctly via a browser or ping command, checking that the Nokia Music site is still available and checking that there are no third party security programs blocking access to the Nokia Music Store. The majority of issues can be solved by simply trying to download the desired track at a later time.

    How do I back up my N-Gage games?

    If you downloaded the game using your PC, you can save the game file on your computer. You can also make a back up on a memory card using your Nokia device. Use Nokia PC Suite to backup the device memory and use either Mass storage or Media player to transfer your content.     What are the PC requirements for N-Gage game downloads?

    To download an N-Gage game via PC you will need the following:
     • Any PC that is capable of running Windows XP and has USB connection

     • (High-speed) Internet connection
     • Fully charged, N-Gage compatible Nokia device

    How do I update my Nseries device software?

    Nseries device software can be updated via PC. Follow these steps:

    i. Check if you have the latest version of Nokia PC Suite (6.81 or later).
    ii. Backup your device memory to your PC using PC Suite (to preserve your OMADRM activation keys, etc.)
    iii. Copy your files (music, videos, documents, images etc) from the Nokia hard drive or memory card (if available) to your PC (use of USB mass storage recommended).
    iv. Copy the original SISX, Java, etc. installation files for your applications, themes, etc. from your Nokia hard drive or memory card to your PC. (Do not simply copy over the installed directories/files.)
    v. For other Nseries devices: Format memory card drive by selecting Tools > Memory > Options > Format mem.card > Format memory Card? Data will... > Yes (instructions also in user guide).
    vi. Proceed with device software update.
    vii. After the device has completely started up again, reset your device memory by selecting Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > General > Orig. Phone Settings and enter 12345.
    viii. Restore your device memory from your PC using PC Suite by selecting Backup from the PC Suite menu and then selecting Restore.
    ix. Copy back your hard drive or memory card contents from your memory card or PC to your clean hard drive or memory card.

    To insure that DRM Activation Codes protected content will work after the software update in the device either by NSU or the Care point, follow this recommendation. Use Nokia PC Suite to backup the device memory and use either Mass storage or Media player to transfer your content. There are two memory locations in the device, the internal memory and hard disk drive or memory card. The device software update will not affect the hard disk drive/memory card content, but any applications that were installed on the device before updating device software will need to be uninstalled then reinstalled to function properly. You may also have to refresh the music library after starting the device.     Note: WMDRM protected content cannot be backed up and restored with this method, it will have to be resynchronized with the PC to work again. Depending on the content subscription, additional rights may have to be retrieved from the content provider.

    How do I explore Points of Interest (POI's) near a location?

    To explore POI's in an area:

    1. Select a location you wish to explore. Ensure that you have not selected an existing POI.
    2. Select the menu button represented by the 3 horizontal lines. For Scroll and Click devices this is the central soft key, while for touch devices this can be found in the information area at the top of the screen.
    3. Select Explore
    4. Select a category
    5. Select a sub category, or alternatively select Search All to include all subcategories.
    6. Select a search result, then select Show on Map. The POI icon will now be shown on the map.

    You can also enter a search term to search across all visible categories.

    The distance is then shown to each POI found. Please note that this distance is along a straight line, not from a planned route.
