Purchase a Game using the Web

Before you purchase an N-Gage Game you need a few things:
  • You must have an N-Gage enabled device. To view a list of devices supported by the N-Gage application click here. If you do not see your device listed there, please feel free to check back with us. We will be adding more and more devices to our N-Gage supported devices portfolio.

  • We recommend using the Nokia PC Suite to install the N-Gage application. The Nokia PC Suite is a free PC software product designed to help you make the most out of your device. Click here to download the PC Suite.

  • Most importantly, be sure that you have the N-Gage application installed on your device. N-Gage games Will NOT work without the N-Gage application installed on your device. If you do not have the N-Gage application on your device, click here.

  • A GPRS connection or a 3G connection. You may also use WLAN if available. You will not be able to activate your game unless you have one of these services activated on your device. Click here for more information on GPRS and WLAN services.

Now you are ready to get started. Please select a game you wish to purchase from the available games section located in n-gage.com showroom.
Purchase Process

    1. Select Device and Game License
    Select the N-Gage compatible device you are going to be using to play the selected game. Be sure to select your device properly to ensure the game will work. You will also be asked to choose the license type you would like to purchase (a full version with unlimited game play is selected by default). Note: A free trial version is available as well. The trial version will allow you to preview a game before you purchase it. To download the trial version, select Download Free Trial.

    2. Enter your Billing Details
    Select your credit card type from the drop down menu and type the card details into the respective fields. Note: your credit card must be issued in the same country as the N-Gage Web store where you are making your purchase. If you have saved your credit card details from your previous purchase and you are logged into the website, they will be saved for you, but will only be partially displayed for security purposes. We recommend saving your billing information so you don’t have to re-enter it on your next game purchase.

    3. Confirm your purchase
    On this screen, you will verify your billing details and ensure that all the information is correct. You will also need to accept the Terms and Conditions for the purchase of an N Gage game in order to proceed. After you have successfully confirmed your N-Gage game purchase, a purchase receipt will be sent to the email address you provided. Your transaction ID and your Activation Code are included in the email receipt. We highly recommend that you save the email and/or print a copy for your records as it is important for tracking your game purchase and re-activating the game when needed. The receipt also includes the download link for your game. Do not delete the email for as long as you own the game. Note: The link will expire after 7 days. If you have not activated your game within 7 days the activation will expire.

    4. Download Game
    You can now click the Download and Install now button, to begin downloading your game. Make sure you have your Nokia USB cable ready for your PC-to-device connection. If you do not have your device connected to your PC, be sure to save the game on your hard drive to begin the installation process.

    5. Run Download
    Click the Run button located on the PC dialog window.

    6. Complete Download
    Follow the instructions in the following dialogs. At the end of the PC game installation, the dialog boxes will close and you will see the Game Download Complete window. See the next section for instructions on how to install the game to your device.

    7. Create N-Gage Player Name
    At this point, you’ve completed downloading the game and you may create an N-Gage Player Name from the successful download page, if you have not already done so.
     
Installation and Activation

    1. Get Connected!
    Before you start, be sure you have enough memory on your device or memory card in order to install the game. If you received an insufficient space message, you do not have enough space on your device for the download. Please free up some space before proceeding. You can download and install your game with or without Nokia PC Suite. With Nokia PC Suite installed on your PC. Connect your mobile device to your PC using the USB cable that came with your device, and launch the Nokia PC Suite software. Once you’ve launched Nokia PC Suite, click the Get Connected button in the lower right corner. Click through the connection wizard and select your device from the selection list. Make sure your device is successfully connected via USB before proceeding to the next step. Without Nokia PC Suite installed on your PC. Connect your mobile device to your PC using the USB cable that came with your device and select Mass Storage mode on your device.

    2. Begin Installation
    Now you are ready to begin the installation of the game to your device. Double-click the game file you downloaded to your hard drive. The installer will ask you to choose the location to install the game (device or memory card). Once you choose your location, the game will begin the installation process. The installer application will guide you through the installation process. Follow these steps to complete the game installation onto your mobile device: After you have installed your game, open the Applications folder located in the main menu. Note: The N-Gage application icon may appear somewhere else on your device. Start up the N-Gage application to finish the game installation. After the game has been installed, the game will appear in your My Games module inside the N-Gage application.

    3. Activation
    Now that you have transferred the game to your device, you need to finalize the game installation. Locate the N-Gage application on your device. It can be found under the Applications menu item. When you start the application, it will verify if new games have been transferred onto the device. If it finds any games that have not been installed yet, it will install them automatically. If the game you installed was a purchased game the activation will take place automatically. Start up the game. The Activation Code is contained in the email you received after purchase. Enter the Activation Code into the respective field and your game will be activated. Now your game is unlocked and ready to be played. Enjoy!
     
N-Gage application
 
Some N-Gage compatible devices will have N-Gage pre-installed so you can simply click the icon and start playing right away. Some N-Gage compatible devices include a preview application pre-installed. This preview gives you some N-Gage game demos to try and a link to download the full application on the mobile website. Some devices are N-Gage Ready but do not have N-Gage pre-installed. You will need to download the application yourself.

GPRS
 
The N-Gage application has an online component that uses a wireless protocol called General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). GPRS has been specifically developed to keep the amount of wireless data uploaded and downloaded to a minimum and ensures the fastest possible online experience. A connection to the mobile Internet, such as GPRS, 3G or WLAN, is required to use the online features of the N-Gage application. A GPRS, 3G, or WLAN connection is also required to activate your game. You will not be able to activate your game unless you have one of these services activated on your device.

As with voice reception on a mobile device, GPRS signal strength varies depending upon your physical location. When GPRS signal strength is at a maximum, the N-Gage application will be at its most responsive. The current GPRS signal strength is shown on your device screen. When connected, look for six bars in the upper left corner next to a G. The more bars you see, the stronger your signal.
N-Gage compatible device phone settings
 

This page will help you set up your N-Gage compatible device to access the N-Gage service. These settings will also allow you to set up mobile access to an existing personal e-mail account. WAP/GPRS and MMS are included in the standard settings package. Ordering the settings is free. Your phone number will only be used to send you the settings. It will not be stored for any other purpose. The settings will be sent as one or more text messages. Please note that your mobile service provider must support these features for them to work on your device. If you're unsure, contact your provider to make sure that the features you want to use are included in your current service plan.
