Purchase a Game using your Device
Before you purchase an N-Gage Game you need a few things:
  • You must have an N-Gage Ready device. To view a list of devices supported by the N-Gage application click here. If you do not see your device listed there, please feel free to check back with us. We will be adding more and more devices to our N-Gage supported devoices portfolio.

  • Most importantly, be sure that you have the N-Gage application installed on your device. N-Gage games Will NOT work without the N-Gage application installed on your device. If you do not have the N-Gage application on your device, click here.

  • You must have access to the mobile Internet on your device, either through a GPRS connection or a 3G connection. You may also use WLAN if available. You will not be able to activate your game unless you have one of these services activated on your device. Click here for more information on GPRS and WLAN services.

Now you are ready to get started. Please select a game you wish to purchase from the N-Gage.com Games Showroom.

Download and Install Game

    1. Download Free Trial
    From the Showroom module in the N-Gage application, select a game you are interested in to view information about the game. Select “Download Free Trial” to initiate the download process. Select your preferred download method to continue.

    2. Begin Installation
    When a game has finished downloading, the N-Gage application automatically runs a game environment check before installing the game. This includes checking if there is enough available memory on the device or memory card for the game and if the N-Gage application needs to be updated to run the game. If there is not enough space on the device to install the game, the N Gage application suggests removing one or more demos or trial versions to free space.

    3. Choose Location of Installation
    If you have enough free memory, continue by choosing where to install the game. You may choose to install your game onto either your device memory or a memory card.

    4. Install the Game
    Once you have chosen the location, your game will begin the installation process. After you have installed your game, you will receive a notification and the game will now appear in your My Games module inside the N-Gage application.

    1. Purchase the Game
    Start game and select “Purchase Now”. Note: a free trial version is available as well. The limited trial version will allow you to preview a game before you purchase it.

    2. Select a License
    You may have more than one license option, depending on the game or your region. Select the license type you would like to purchase (a full license with unlimited game play is selected by default).

    3. Choose a Payment Option
    The Billing Method screen enables you to select the payment option you would like to use to pay for your game purchase. The payment options that are available to you are retrieved from the online server and are region - and operator-dependent. If available, you may choose to have payment for the game included on your operator bill. To pay by credit card, follow the instructions below.

    4. Enter Billing Details
    To make this as easy as possible, make sure your credit card is handy. The country information is pre-populated with the information from your SIM card.

    5. Confirm Purchase
    Select Accept Terms and Conditions check box. Enter password. Note: The Password box will only be displayed if you are paying with saved, preferred billing details. Enter a valid email address in the Email Receipt field. This will insure that a receipt of your game purchase transaction is sent to you via email.

    6. Transaction Receipt Email
    After you have successfully purchased an N-Gage game, a purchase receipt will be sent to the email address you provided. All of the important purchase information is contained in that email. Your transaction ID and your Activation Code are also included in the receipt. We recommend that you save the e-mail or print a copy to help us track your game purchase if needed. Your transaction ID and Activation Code are the two most important items that will help us track your game purchase so it is a good idea to save your receipt. Note: If you ever remove the game from your device and re-install it later, you can re-activate your game with the same Activation Code. You are done with the purchase. The game is now fully unlocked and ready to play (per the license type you selected).
     
N-Gage application
 
Some N-Gage compatible devices will have N-Gage pre-installed so you can simply click the icon and start playing right away. Some N-Gage compatible devices include a preview application pre-installed. This preview gives you some N-Gage game demos to try and a link to download the full application on the mobile website. Some devices are N-Gage Ready but do not have N-Gage pre-installed. You will need to download the application yourself.

GPRS
 
The N-Gage application has an online component that uses a wireless protocol called General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). GPRS has been specifically developed to keep the amount of wireless data uploaded and downloaded to a minimum and ensures the fastest possible online experience. A connection to the mobile Internet, such as GPRS, 3G or WLAN, is required to use the online features of the N-Gage application. A GPRS, 3G, or WLAN connection is also required to activate your game. You will not be able to activate your game unless you have one of these services activated on your device.

As with voice reception on a mobile device, GPRS signal strength varies depending upon your physical location. When GPRS signal strength is at a maximum, the N-Gage application will be at its most responsive. The current GPRS signal strength is shown on your device screen. When connected, look for six bars in the upper left corner next to a G. The more bars you see, the stronger your signal.
N-Gage compatible device phone settings
 

This page will help you set up your N-Gage compatible device to access the N-Gage service. These settings will also allow you to set up mobile access to an existing personal e-mail account. WAP/GPRS and MMS are included in the standard settings package. Ordering the settings is free. Your phone number will only be used to send you the settings. It will not be stored for any other purpose. The settings will be sent as one or more text messages. Please note that your mobile service provider must support these features for them to work on your device. If you're unsure, contact your provider to make sure that the features you want to use are included in your current service plan.
